Resumen
Basic Spanish Grammar for English Speakers is a Spanish reference resource at the B1 level of the Common European Framework. The book has two distinct parts. The first covers the main areas of Spanish grammar, including sections on Spanish pronunciation and spelling. This part includes useful supplementary notes on those areas of Spanish which cause difficulties for English speakers, by showing contrastive patterns of usage, e.g. differences in the use of punctuation, prepositions, and verb tenses. The second part provides learners with a useful communicative resource. This is organised by common communicative functions, such as: expressing obligation, making requests, and arranging to meet people. Examples of language used for these communicative purposes are presented together with useful sociocultural information. The resource is thus designed to equip learners with the language they need to communicate effectively in specific contexts and situations.<
