A great first collaboration between Allan Ahlberg and Raymond Briggs, THE creative giants of the childrens book world. Bert has all sorts of ridiculous adventures and theyre told in this book in a slapstick, almost farcical way. The reader is made to feel part of the story when he/she is told to turn the page quietly so as not to wake Berts baby and theyre blamed when the baby starts to cry. Bert rescues a barking cardboard box from the river, is chased down the street by a giant sausage and much more.
