Resumen
Towards Proficiency is a twelve-unit bridging course from upper-intermediate to proficiency level. It introduces students to the format of the revised Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English examination, giving them a solid foundation for amore intensive CPE course. It is also ideal as a general advanced coursebook. Towards Proficiency aims to help learners make significant progress and to give a solid foundation for further exam preparation or general advanced students. A major feature of the course is its training syllabus, which gives advice on how best to tackle all the CPE exam task types, as well as assisting with general skills work. Towards Proficiency is designed to be used in either monolingual or multilingual classes, and the topics and texts it contains should be of a particular interest and relevance to the typical age range of students in the first year of a CPE course. Key Features: • strong focus on grammar, including remedial work, and vocabulary • model compositions for all writing tasks, a seven-page writing bank, and structured training for the new Paper 3 summary task • exam Focus sections outline the new exam tasks and suggest techniques for tackling questions
